Guest Speaker
I have had the wonderful opportunity to be a guest speaker on a variety of mental health issues over the past 14 years. Some of these topics include parenting, addiction, social media, life skills, depression, anxiety, in addition to other psychoeducational material. If your church or organization is interested in contacting me for more information, please email me April Twenhafel.
Couples & Family
How is it you can love someone so much and yet at times feel like you do not even know them? It is painful to look at your partner or family members and feel so much hurt, brokenness, powerlessness, and frustration. Imagine a place where you can have a voice and be heard! A place where there’s a real opportunity to connect and to find the ability to move away from feeling stuck. Let’s schedule an appointment and work together to restore hope and connection.
Children & Adolescents
Children
It is so difficult to see your kid having a hard time and not knowing how to help. You’ve googled, read blogs & parenting books and it feels like nothing is working and you’ve reached your limits. This does not mean you’re failing; parenting is just hard sometimes and we need a little help. Children learn through play. I utilize play therapy to equip children to emotionally express themselves and build emotional regulation. I will help equip you with tools and strategies to help your child thrive.
Pre-teens and teenagers
These years can be very exciting and also terrifying. As you watch them develop a sense of who they are, you also see their struggle and it is heartbreaking to see them in pain and feel powerless in it. You’re not sure how to help. One of the best gifts you can give your children is the ability to identify what they are feeling and how to express their emotions in a healthy way. Anxiety and depression at this age are increasingly on the rise and often not discussed. Let’s equip them with skills that will not only get them through these years but create a healthy foundation for their future.
